“Breathe. Be zen. Calm down,” I muttered pointlessly to myself this afternoon, when I discovered that my all-singing, all-dancing mobile had somehow re-set itself to its factory settings.

Not a good afternoon. My language wasn’t very good either.
The rest of the day has been spent packing & tackling all the last minute Stuff that always seems to happen pre-departure. We leave tomorrow for a week in Dubai, and are no doubt seriously exhausting our stock of goodwill with the ever hospitable Kumud and Gautam. What a brilliant day this has been - and will no doubt continue to be. The latter statement is (a) because we are having dinner with dear friends, and (b) because of something special which is happening tonight :

Well that’s it, then.
Winter is over.
Bring on the spring-like weather, which is a joy in Delhi, because before too long, it will be summer. But in that brief interval, between the chilly fog & the summer heat, Delhi’s weather is beautiful – mild and pleasantly sunny - and the city looks great. To celebrate, Lizzie (whenever she arrives) and yours truly are going to have a glass of wine on the roof terrace, under a full moon.

Yesterday was a delightfully indolent, admittedly self-indulgent day. Himmat and I went and did some essential shopping in Sunder Nagar – jewellery. Mock not. Presents for 2 new born baby girls.
Lunch at the Golf Club, where we bumped into Naina and Rashid, so we all had a big catch-up and a run through of our upcoming trip to Kaziranga in March - can’t wait. 2 days back in the city, and I am ready to head off to the jungle again.
