Have I told you before about that quintessential Indian concept of “jugaad”?
(Borrowing freely here from good old Mr Google) Jugaad is a Hindi-Urdu term widely used in India and Pakistan and is applied to a creative or innovative idea providing a quick, alternative way of solving or fixing a problem. Jugaad literally means an improvised arrangement or work-around, which has to be used because of lack of resources.
So, when one of your prayer wheels (presumably) breaks in a Buddhist monastery in remote Ladakh, what do you do ?
Improvise, my friends, improvise.
I give you a charming example of jugaad.
This was at Alchi, which we visited in July.
