This will only be the quickest of blog postings, because the laptop battery is getting critical and we have another day and night in the forest rest house, which doesn’t run to electricity.
We were up at 5, for a chilly, misty game drive.
Almost as soon as we set off, we were charged by a female rhino, who had a tiny baby with her, which was an exciting way to start the day. We saw birds galore, and eles, and I think the rhino tally now stands at 225.
The other 4 joined us for breakfast, and we headed off for a hot, dusty game drive, which produced the oddest sighting yet. Sitting under a tree, a fish suddenly fell down on the ground, next to our jeep. We had disturbed a fish eagle, which had obviously settled down for his lunch. Kunwar valiantly scrambled down to the river to put the poor fish back, but to no avail.
Now we are all back at the rest house – some are snoozing, Ravi is sketching, Susie is reading Jim Corbett, and the staff are preparing lunch (we are have rattan subzi today).
Battery visibly declining, so will log off.
