Whimsical traffic lights

The house has been quiet today. Himmat left last night for Mauritius for a board meeting. Gill and Alan flew back to London at the ungodly hour of 3 a.m., but were real stars, opting to spend hours in the airport rather than keeping me up “till the wee hours” – one of my cherished Indian-isms.

I went to watch the first game of the 10 goal polo tournament, but didn’t bring Abhimanyu luck, as his team lost.  Carine was playing in a 2 goal tournament, but I am not responsible for her score as I arrived late. Yoda [...]

A facelift and a bad fall

It’s a pale sunny Monday morning.  Morning assembly from my local school is blaring out over the loudspeakers. “Left, right. Left, right. Left, left, right.” Gill and Alan have just left for 4 days in Rajasthan, so it’s time to settle down with my 2nd coffee of the day -  Yoda sent the first one flying – and catch up on the last hectic weekend.

I think I left you at the Marine Corps Ball, so as to speak. It was a first time for me, and huge fun.  A nice dose of pageantry as we celebrated the 234th [...]
