The oddest of things happen in India.
Last night, I went with Carine to Shahpurjat, to Sonam‘s. She had fittings for her clothes, which are just gorgeous, and we had chai and biscuits and we left. As one does.
Grey haired, bearded man greets us effusively in the narrow street outside Sonam’s. Chats away in Hindi, smiling broadly at Carine all the time and pretty much ignoring yours truly, who duly translates. The conversation went something like this :

That was the question I asked myself as I drove home after lunching with Anumeha in GK I – where I also bumped into Sanghita, who was looking ridiculously cool, despite the searing heat.
For there in front of me, ambling calmly along the BRT, was an elephant.
Over lunch, Anumeha and I had been mildly cribbing about Delhi traffic, Delhi driving, the daft BRT system - as one does. We all know the BRT was modelled after the bus system on Bogota, but Delhi & Bogota are light years apart in climate & population. And elephants, I imagine.

It’s Monday, it’s sunny and hot, and it’s the beginning of a brand new week.
And an IPL-less one for all that.
Well, the corporate blood-letting is not over by a long chalk, in fact it’s just beginning, but the cricket is over (Chennai won, by the way). Obviously, I am going to follow the blood-letting, and will, of course, keep reporting back to you on the most eyeball grabbing bits of news.
But there is more to life in Delhi, and so move on we must.

I have been stuck at the computer virtually all day, barring a dawn walk at the club with Yoda, and a quick shopping sortie to Shahpurjat with Anjulie. We went for tea, a chat and a final trial at Sonam‘s.
Anjulie’s lovely clothes will be finished by Monday, just in time for her to pack them and take them to England the next day. My lovely bag will take a week more.
