A brighter-than-usual moon & worse-than-usual traffic

What a brilliant day this has been -  and will no doubt continue to be.  The latter statement is (a) because we are having dinner with dear friends, and (b) because of something special which is happening tonight :

Clear skies and wet leaves

Monday morning has dawned clear and bright and rather lovely-looking, but I have to go to a funeral – my sister Jane’s mother-in-law – so must soon tackle a London Monday morning rush hour.  I imagine it has to be less chaotic than doing the school run through Moti Bagh.

Rain, rain go away

Ah well, I didn’t for one moment imagine that the Indian summer could last for ever.

Had 2 days of good weather.

Mustn’t grumble. Musn’t complain.  Must be British and stiff upper lip-pish and accept that the grey rainy weather I see outside is here to stay.

We are heading off to lunch soon with Gill and Alan – “we” being daughter dearest, Liz and your blogger-in-chief.  Doubtless, we will talk about India, since that is where our hosts are heading in a week or two, to stay with us.

London and sunshine

Good morning from ridiculously sunny west London.  I arrived last night, after flying Delhi-Dubai-London, on choc-a-bloc planes, to be met at the airport by Liz, bless her.

I had all the best intentions of blogging in-flight, but got distracted by the richness of the  in-flight movie choice, so watched 3 chick-flick-y movies back to back, and they all blurred into one another, but the hours passed quite happily.
