Delayed planes and fog galore

Well, the weather is certainly the main story here.  And over in Europe, too, by the looks of things.

Here, the problem is fog, fog, and yet more fog.

Anne Sophie was supposed to fly back to Paris at 1.30 am in the morning, but eventually left at 5.00, poor thing.  I keep checking the weather in England, and it doesn’t look good for the childrens’ flights this weekend.  Of course, my prayers might be answered, and I will get to keep them for a few days more…

A vinaigrette to inaugurate the decade

I am trying not to take myself or this blog too seriously, (the heck I am), but as this is the inaugural blog of a new decade, I feel a certain sense of occasion.  However, after a hectic 11 hour drive back from Jodhpur, my brain is hardly in gear, so am going to fob you off with a bit of Jodhpur update, a photo or two, and postpone the cutting political analysis till tomorrow.

That suit everyone ?

Green Santa Claus

A very chilly day here (yes, I know, I know, nothing like Europe or the US) but all the same, in our unheated Delhi homes, it is cold.  It was foggy and very cold at the club early this morning, but it was lovely to see the newly weds, Manisha and Himmat.  I was supposed to take pictures of a new horse for Anjulie, but it was just too foggy -  we would have had an atmospherically grey, misty photo and not much else.

Christmas and the inner bling

My absolute favourite season of the year is fast approaching.  Just a week till Christmas.  To celebrate, Anjulie and I went to Khan Market and bought lots of long 5 metre strings of Christmas lights – predctably all made in China – so now the house looks wonderfully kitsch.  In fact, I am planning on getting even more lights tomorrow, so there will not be a door or window left unfestooned.

India does that to you.  It releases the inner bling in even the most sober, strait-laced Brit.  Today we bought Christmas-y coloured lights -  red and green.  But [...]
