Yes, OK, it also needs “love, sweet love”, but let me tell you my car theory first, and see if you agree.

Think about it : have you ever in your life seen anyone glare/scowl/look angry at a vintage/classic car?

Saved by a piece of string. Well, 2 pieces actually

We took Lemon Drop out to meet some guaranteed admirers this afternoon.

First stop, Gita and Shoki Bhatia, who oohed and aahed suitably, with Shoki making a few wistful comments about his own classic car that needs working on…

Then off we set to show her to Raj Seth, an old and dear friend of Himmat’s who has been part of his car world for ever. He knew Lemon Drop when she was a shiny young thing.

On the way the silencer became loose and clattered along behind us.

Smiles galore on the Delhi highway

Have torn myself away from watching the Jubilee celebrations on the Beeb, to give you what is frankly going to be the quickest of posts tonight.

No big event by any stretch of the imagination, but dear little Lemon Drop had her own version of a successful outing this morning, when we clocked up 50 miles along the Delhi-Gurgaon highway. (Interestingly Himmat thinks in miles for the MG, so miles it is).

Setting miles rather than the usual kilometres on the GPS.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please meet Lemon Drop

I wanted to title this post “Ladis and Jents” which is how I saw it written on a sign in Rajokri this week, but a certain sense of decorum should prevail, when we are introducing you all to Lemon Drop.

Lemon Drop aka Himmat’s beloved 1970 MG Midget had languished for years in Bombay, getting rusty and a bit dilapidated in the process.
