I spent yesterday visiting the “other” Delhi, i.e. Old Delhi, as opposed to New Delhi where I live. A few stops on our brand-new impressive Metro (nine rupees a token) and you move seamlessly from the wide well laid out avenues of Lutyens New Delhi to the narrow, crowded, unbelievably noisy alleyways of the old city. We shopped for ribbons and bags and trinkets (and a few semiprecious stones, I have to admit) then hopped back on the Metro.
