In praise of talented friends

When it comes to a super dear friend like the designer Sonam Dubal, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m proudly and unashamedly biased.

If ever I needed to make a full disclosure statement about my relationship with Sonam and his clothes, it would go something like this:

“I have known this lovely man for years, and he has designed many outfits for me and for my daughter Anjulie, and I trust him implicitly when it comes to anything to do with fashion.”

So with this in mind, if you are expecting an impartial, critical review of Sonam’s show last night at the Amazon India Fashion Week, then it ain’t happening :).

Not that any criticism is at all needed, I hasten to add.

It was all wonderful.

Sonam showcased a beautiful ensemble of his signature coats and jackets, highlighting his ability to combine the best of Indian and western styling in his designs.  This is what makes his clothes so versatile and so eminently wearable.

Trust me.

So, without further ado, let me share some of the evening with you.

The black coat is classic Sonam & the white cape (below) is too, too gorgeous:

Ouf!  These striped trousers (below) are too fabulous…

Another lovely cape (below):

And such a wonderful finale:

An all-round lovely show.  Shabash, my very dear friend.
