Don’t know about you, but I’ll be spending New Year’s Eve the way I’ve spent about 95% of my evenings in 2021.
Home.
We were never big New Year’s Eve party types anyway, but our night curfew has put an end to most peoples’ celebrations.
“Stay home and stay safe” seems to be the message.
I won’t maunder on too long, but suffice it to say I’m glad to see the back of 2021.
Too much death.
Too much suffering.
Too many worries and tears.
And a 2nd year without seeing my children.
So, yes, no fond farewells to 2021.
Like just about everyone on the planet, I’m hoping and praying that 2022 will bring some semblance of normality.
To every lovely one of you who has read, commented, agreed or disagreed with me this year – thank you. It makes it all worthwhile 🙂
See you next year – well, actually in a few hours – with some more stories from this great, complex, often frustrating but always interesting country.
Happy New Year!
Here’s to a happier, healthier 2022!
And a final, wry smile for the year 😛

Happy New Year 2022
