Meet one super enthusiastic pro-vaxxer

Meet one super enthusiastic pro-vaxxer

I’m not 100% sure if “pro-vaxxer” is actually A Thing, but it perfectly describes one Brahmadev Mandal, an 84 year old Bihari man who claims to have had 12 Covid vaccinations.

12 vaccinations.

Now if that isn’t being “pro” vaccines, I don’t know what is 😛

Fascinatingly, the 84 year old claims that the jabs have improved his arthritis and increased his appetite.

Here you go, the man in his own words – well, in his own words as told to the excellent The Wire:

Brahmadev has some bizarre reasons for wanting to get 12 vaccines. He told The Wire, “I had been facing joint and body pain for eight years. When I visited doctors, they told me that a lack of calcium is causing the pain. I took medicines but in vain.”

“I got the first dose of the vaccine on February 13 last year and the second dose the next month. Then I realised that my joint and body pain is gone. I thought that COVID-19 vaccines have worked. My appetite also increased,” he said.

“That is why I decided to take more vaccines, as it was improving my health.”

After that, wherever he got a chance, Brahmadev took a vaccine.

Tell this to all those protesting anti-vaxxers in Europe and the US, will ya?!

Daft as this story is, it does raise quite a few questions, and I’m not even talking about the medical side of things:

  • the repeated use of his government ID, for instance.
  • whether or not he was actually getting vaccines, or placebos?
  • and, rather alarmingly, how many more folks are there out there taking the Covid jab to cure their arthritis?!

I took my first jab in January (2021), when I was barely able to walk. After my general health condition improved with the second dose, I decided to take another shot. I produced my Aadhaar card four times and voter ID card twice to get jabs.”

Now the poor chap is in legal trouble:

An FIR has been lodged under sections 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating and dishonesty) and 188 (disobedience of order promulgated by government)

First check whether the system was flawed, whether officials failed to act on his repeated appearances at the health centre, before you clobber him with legal penalties.
