So here we are.
More gloomy news for those of us here in India.
We are heading into yet another month without international flights, as the flight ban, due to expire on 31 January, has been extended for a further month 🙁
Inevitable, I guess, but sad news for those of us who haven’t seen our families for 2 years.
Yeah, you’re right – “those of us” would be me.
2 years without seeing my children, who are based overseas, and in countries without an “air bubble” with India. It’s tough.
I tell myself that it’s all for the best…chin up…we’re luckier than most…this too shall pass…but right now, on a cold, windy, wintery Delhi day, it’s hard to drum up much Dunkirk spirit.
While some countries (notably the ol’ home country, England) are shrugging off restrictions – and good luck to them – in Delhi we still have night curfew, and weekend curfew, and it all seems a tad grim.
I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW it’s for the best, after the horrors of last year, when the country collapsed under the weight of Covid deaths, and since there is absolutely nothing we can do, I shall just have to grin and bear it.
Stay safe, everyone.
And I’ll be more cheerful tomorrow, I promise!
